Janusz Osicki, "Pielgrzymka", oil painting from 1986, framed Janusz Osicki, *Born 1949 in Gdynia, Abstract Figure, oil on canvas, 82 x 60 cm, signed, signed on the reverse, inscribed, dated Gdynia 1986, framed About the artist: From 1971 to 1976, he studied painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, under Kazimierz Śramkiewicz, amongst others. He graduated in 1976. He subsequently worked for decades as an artist and university lecturer at Gdańsk University of Technology (Politechnika Gdańska), specialising in drawing, painting and the visual arts. In 2025, Osicki was awarded the ‘Galion Gdyński’ for his life’s work. In 2026, the Gdynia City Museum dedicated its first major monographic exhibition to him: ‘Ciągłość w procesie. Janusz Osicki’. The exhibition featured works spanning several decades - including pieces that had previously been shown only rarely, if at all. His works are held inter alia in the collections of the Gdynia City Museum and the National Museum in Gdańsk.
