Just two years after the end of the war, in June 1947, a solo exhibition of paintings and prints by Karl Otto Götz took place at the Egon Günther Gallery in Mannheim. In 1949, he became a member of the CoBrA artists’ group alongside Asger Jorn, Constant, Karel Appel and Corneille.
