Pierre BAYLE (1945–2004). Single-flower vase. Engobed terracotta, known as “sigillata.” H_7 cm W_8 cm, irregular neck. Provenance: a private collection in Occitania, belonging to a friend of Pierre Bayle. Note: A ceramist from the Languedoc region, trained in Castelnaudary, Pierre Bayle combined traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde experimentation, establishing ceramics as an art form in its own right, straddling the line between utilitarian and decorative objects. He creates works made of sigillated clay, first engobed and then smoked, with surfaces worked to highlight their texture and crackle patterns, which lend depth and uniqueness to his pieces.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
