Marriage on the Rocks Original Estimating Script by Cy Howard Original brad-bound script for Marriage on the Rocks (here entitled "'Divorce, American Style' (formerly 'Community Property')," written by Cy Howard, 8.5 x 11, 152 pages, July 14, 1964, numbered "104" and marked as an "Estimating Script" on the front cover. A notice bound into the front reads: "This Script Is Not Final and Is Given to You for advance Information Only." In fine condition, with light creases to the covers. From the collection of Gerda Robison, who worked as a story researcher and stenographer for Disney in the 1940s and 50s. She authored the book Dark Lady, and later served as Cecil Beaton's assistant on My Fair Lady. Released in 1965, Marriage on the Rocks is a glossy romantic comedy starring Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr, and Dean Martin, with Nancy Sinatra in a supporting role. Directed by Jack Donohue from Cy Howard’s screenplay, the film follows a series of marital mishaps involving divorce, remarriage, and mistaken identity, all played against the sophisticated Rat Pack-era personas of Sinatra and Martin. It is especially notable as the last substantial feature-film pairing of Sinatra and Martin for nearly two decades, preceding their brief reunion in Cannonball Run II in 1984. Interestingly, a different film, written by Norman Lear, would be released under the title "Divorce American Style" in 1967.
