Eric Clapton Autograph Letter Signed to Beatles Insider Terry Doran on Pattie Boyd, Health, and Their Long Friendship ALS signed “El, xxx,” one page, both sides, 6.25 x 4, personal stationery card, postmarked January 26, 2016. Handwritten letter to longtime friend and former Apple employee Terry Doran, in part (spelling retained): “I heard from Pattie that you weren’t feeling very well - I’m so sorry to hear that, and can identify in a small way, having to take Levadopa and gabbapentin myself every bloody day! - I’m doing okay really, probably need to go to more NA meetings for all the pills, but quit a few unexpected miracles in my life! - I will never forget you saying; (with regard to ‘Nell’) ‘Get your teeth fixed, and she’s yours’! Hilarious! - Where’s all the fucking time gone? I love you!” In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and the original mailing envelope, hand-addressed by Clapton. Clapton’s affectionate and candid letter reflects on his health, medication, and long friendship with Doran, while recalling an amusing exchange concerning Pattie Boyd, whom Clapton refers to by the nickname ‘Nell.’ Doran was a fixture in the Beatles’ inner circle: after co-owning Brydor Cars with Brian Epstein and supplying sports cars to figures including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Clapton, he became manager of Apple Publishing in 1967, later serving as a personal assistant to John Lennon and George Harrison and as Harrison’s estate manager at Friar Park.
