Pinocchio preproduction concept drawing from Pinocchio - From the Collection of the Walt Disney Studios Treasurer (Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original preproduction concept drawing featuring the beloved title character from Pinocchio, picturing the magical boy puppet seated and leaning over with a big smile. Originates from the collection of A. G. Keener, who served as treasurer and paymaster of Walt Disney Studios from 1934 through the early 1950s, during the studio’s formative golden age. He was one of the comparatively few men permitted to enter the predominantly female Ink & Paint Department, where he personally delivered paychecks and also made regular trips to the studio’s Seward Street annex to pay the artists working there.
