Alice production drawing from Alice in Wonderland (Walt Disney Studios, 1951) Original production drawing of Alice from Alice in Wonderland, picturing the film’s iconic title character in a half-length pose, with her right hand brought close to her face. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on 12.25 x 12.5 animation paper. Character image measures 6 x 5.5. According to the consignor, the drawing corresponds to the Mad Tea Party sequence at 46:49 on Disney+, when Alice whispers to the Mad Hatter, ‘I mean my c-a-t.’ The Hatter’s bow tie, collar, and the side of his face are outlined in red, while Alice is numbered “283” in blue. The consignor notes that Marc Davis oversaw Alice’s animation in this scene and considers the brown underdrawing likely to be his work. In fine condition, with light creasing and trimmed side edges.
