Wernher von Braun Signed Book - Handbook of Astronautical Engineering, Presented to Klaus Dannenberg: "As you follow the footsteps of your father—who contributed so much to the art of astronautical engineering" Signed book: Handbook of Astronautical Engineering. First edition. NY: McGraw-Hill, 1961. Hardcover, 6 x 9.25. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "To Klaus Dannenberg, for his 21st birthday. As you follow the footsteps of your father—who contributed so much to the art of astronautical engineering—this book will provide you with invaluable guidance. Good luck! Wernher von Braun, April 1966." Autographic condition: fine, with light edge toning to the signed page. Book condition: VG/None, with minor scuffing to boards and "Klaus D. Dannenberg" ownership stamps to textblock edges. This copy carries especially strong association value: inscribed by Wernher von Braun in 1966 to Klaus Dannenberg, son of German-American rocket engineer Konrad Dannenberg, one of von Braun’s longtime colleagues from the V-2 program through the U.S. space effort. Von Braun’s inscription directly acknowledges the elder Dannenberg’s contribution to astronautical engineering while encouraging Klaus to follow in his father’s footsteps, making the volume both a technical reference from the formative Space Age and a personal link between two generations of a family closely connected to the development of modern rocketry.
