Ernest Shackleton Signature Vintage fountain pen signature, "E. H. Shackleton,” on a beige 4 x 6.25 album page, annotated in a collector's hand: "12 Nov. 1909." In fine condition. Dated November 12, 1909, this signature comes from one of the defining moments of Ernest Shackleton’s career, just months after his return from the celebrated Nimrod Expedition of 1907-1909. During that expedition, Shackleton and his companions reached a record southern latitude of 88°23′ S—within roughly 100 miles of the South Pole—establishing him as one of the foremost figures of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
