Arthur James Balfour Partial Letter Signed British Conservative statesman (1848-1930) who served as prime minister from 1902 to 1905; his Balfour Declaration, issued in 1917, established a national home in Palestine for the Jewish people. LS signed “Arthur James Balfour,” one page, 4.75 x 7.5, 10 Downing Street letterhead, no date. Conclusion of a letter signed by Balfour, in part: "point out to you that this is a very different proposition from that attributed to me by Mr. Davitt." In fine condition.
