John F. Kennedy Original Oversized Photograph Signed by Jacques Lowe Large original semi-glossy 17 x 12.25 silver gelatin photograph of John F. Kennedy in profile, his chin resting on his hand, taken by photographer Jacques Lowe, who has signed and dated in felt tip within a white panel in the lower left corner of the image, “Jacques Lowe, 8/5/98.” In fine condition, with a tiny crease and scattered light spotting. Born in Cologne, Germany, Jacques Lowe (1930-2001) became the Kennedy family's personal photographer in the late 1950s, after photographing Robert F. Kennedy on assignment. He followed John F. Kennedy throughout the 1960 campaign and, after declining the post of official White House photographer, continued to document the administration at the president's request, producing some of the most widely reproduced images of the Kennedys. Lowe's archive of some 40,000 negatives was later destroyed in a bank vault at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. His career photographing Kennedy is the subject of the 2025 documentary Capturing Kennedy, directed by Steele Burrow.
