John and Jacqueline Kennedy Original 1961 Inaugural Parade Photograph Original vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy riding with Senator John Sparkman in the open 1950 Lincoln presidential limousine during the inaugural parade on January 20, 1961. Following Kennedy’s swearing-in at the U.S. Capitol, the procession carried the new president and first lady up Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, where Kennedy reviewed the remainder of the parade. In fine condition, with light crazing and toning and a missing tip to the lower right corner. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the daughter of John A. Notte, Jr., Kennedy’s friend and the governor of Rhode Island, in part: "This picture of the Kennedys on inauguration day, January 20, 1961, is one of a kind. I along with my family went to Washington D.C. for the inauguration...My father, at his own expense, took along his personal state photographer...We had front row seats along the parade route...This picture has never been published-it has always been in my family." An outstanding image that perfectly captures the exuberance of the day.
