LUIGI PAPALUCA (active in Naples, ca. 1890–1934) The Royal Yacht Squadron’s motor yacht “Migrant” in the Bay of Naples Gouache on paper, signed lower right: L. Papaluca, titled in the lower left: M.Y. Migrant R.Y.S. Old number in pencil in the upper left. Wear and foxing. Dimensions: 40.5 x 69.5 cm (visible area). The yacht Migrant flies the Royal Navy’s White Ensign at the stern. With the meticulous detail for which he was renowned, Papaluca depicts the gangways, lifeboats, wind vanes, and even the sailors in uniform on deck.
