LARGE PERSIAN ISFAHAN-STYLE ORIENTAL RUG WITH HUNTING MOTIF A large rug made of fine wool; the main field, in a dusty pink or salmon color, features a rich and dynamic scene of a royal hunt inspired by the Safavid era. It depicts numerous horsemen in motion, armed with lances and bows, pursuing prey amid stylized flora and fauna (gazelles, lions, deer, birds, and flowering trees). The wide main border, set against a midnight blue background, is adorned with cartouches featuring both mythical and real animals (phoenixes, lions, does) alternating with floral scrolls.
