SET OF ANTIQUE TOKENS The token "MINOR EST QUAE FULMINA GESTAT, 1655” featuring a winged Pegasus dates from the reign of Louis XIV (1643–1715). In 1655, the young king was only 17 years old and had not yet personally assumed power (he would do so in 1661). The catalogs of the Royal Mint from this period document numerous tokens and medals commemorating events from 1654 to 1656. The motto “MINOR EST QUAE FULMINA GESTAT” is a Latin phrase that roughly translates to “Small is the one who bears the lightning.” A seal and three other coins are included.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
