MEDIEVAL TOOL, 10th–15th CENTURY Made of wrought iron, likely the blade of a hoe, spade, or agricultural tool—beautifully crafted and in excellent condition— the fan-shaped blade with a reinforced central rib and the cylindrical shank socket attest to a blacksmith who had perfectly mastered his craft and understood the mechanical stresses inherent in tools used for intensive labor. The black and gray patina, resulting from ancient oxidation, is uniform and deep. Displayed on a Plexiglas base, this tool serves as an authentic testament to daily life and traditional craftsmanship in medieval Europe. Dimensions: 46.5 x 14 cm - Total: 48 cm
