Illustrated engraved map. Printed on two joined sheets (laid paper with a star watermark). Legend in Latin. At the bottom, there is an oval plan of ancient JERUSALEM and vignettes of sacred objects: a menorah, the Ark of the Covenant, the altar of sacrifice, the Tabernacle, as well as a plan and elevations of the Temple, etc... in the borders. In the center is a bird’s-eye view of ancient Jerusalem, based on the work of the Spanish biblical geographer Juan Bautista Vilalpando. Margins. 38 x 105 cm. Condition A/B (folded; rare light foxing and short tears in the margins; sun-faded upper and left edges of the sheet; small handling creases in the right margin; otherwise in good overall condition).
