THE CIRCLE OR STUDIO OF PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR (1841–1919) The Avenue of Cypresses and Olive Trees at the Domaine des Collettes Sketch, oil on canvas board. This study from life captures a vanishing perspective through a tree-lined path in the park. On the left, a row of trees with dense foliage and weathered trunks creates a protective shade. On the right, a row of slender young cypress trees soars vertically toward the sky, punctuated at their base by haystacks gilded by the sun. In the center, the yellow-ochre dirt path catches a vibrant light. In the background, beneath an azure sky tinged with gray, the sunlit ridges of the surrounding hills are faintly visible. Condition: As is. Unsigned study. Studio pin holes Dimensions: 25.5 x 19 cm.
