RARE PAIR OF HIGH RENAISSANCE GLASS PANELS Virgin and Child with a Saint and the Holy Family with the Child Saint John the Baptist A pair of works mounted under glass (églomisé glass) with highlights in gold and color painted on the reverse side of a glass plate, presented in matching octagonal frames with a gilded guilloché decoration on a black background. Rare, densely detailed compositions featuring figures with halos (radiant golden halos for the Infant Jesus), executed in the pictorial style of High Renaissance Italian painting (early 16th century), possibly based on compositions by Leonardo, Raphael, or Perugino, who were very much in vogue at that time.
