GLOBE BAR or World Globe, 20th century A bar cabinet shaped like a globe that opens, featuring polychrome decoration with antique maps and zodiac signs. The upper hemisphere lifts to reveal an interior designed to hold bottles and glasses. It rests on four turned wooden legs that join two decorated circular shelves, with the lower one serving as a bottle storage compartment. The unit rests on casters. This type of globe bar is generally inspired by 16th- and 17th-century maps; very similar models are notably documented in Italian production. H 95 x W 50 cm
