Carved and gilded wooden SOFA decorated with medallions, acanthus leaves, and a ribbon motif. Rests on seven tapered, fluted legs. Stamped on the front crossbar “N.S. Courtois” for Nicolas Simon Courtois, who was admitted as a master craftsman in 1766. Upholstered with 18th-century tapestry in the style of the cartoons by Jean-Baptiste OUDRY (1686–1755).
