A rare and exceptional sculpture depicting a dignitary, a god in a seated position. The imposing head accounts for nearly half the figure’s height. The face is powerful and expressive, with beautiful modeling executed with mastery and restraint by the sculptor. The earrings still bear traces of red cinnabar, creating a striking contrast with the sky-blue headband holding back the long hair. Vesicular basalt, with significant traces of polychromy.
