17th century Flemish tapestry. "History of Alexander the Great". Made in wool. The scene corresponds to a passage from the life of Alexander the Great, famous Macedonian conqueror, related to a sacrifice or consultation to the oracle before a military campaign. Alexander appears kneeling, probably in an act of reverence. In front of him, a group of figures in solemn robes (possibly priests or dignitaries) present him with ritual or symbolic objects. In the central altar, the gestures and the presence of a bull in the background reinforce the idea of an act of religious or sacrificial character. Measurements: 330x310 cm.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
