MONTBLANC - “Geosphère Limited Edition” wristwatch (reference 117840). Automatic movement (caliber MB 29.25 with GMT function). 42 mm diameter bronze case. Water-resistant to 10 atm. Bidirectional rotating notched ceramic bezel engraved with the cardinal directions. Black dial. Arabic numerals and baton hour markers; date window at 3 o’clock. Two globes with day/night indicators that complete a rotation in 24 hours. Cognac-brown aged calfskin strap with a bronze pin buckle. Watch was in working condition at the time of appraisal. Very good condition. Sold as a full set (box, outer box, and papers). There is a very slight crack at the seal, but it does not compromise the watch’s water resistance. Before watches, there were pens. Founded in Germany in 1906, Montblanc built its reputation on writing instruments before venturing into Swiss watchmaking. In 1997, the company unveiled its first watches in Le Locle, grouped under the name “Meisterstück.” It then expanded its expertise through the legacy of Minerva, a Villeret-based manufacturer founded in 1858 and renowned for its chronographs. Montblanc thus combines classic models with more complex mechanical timepieces. This transition from writing instruments to timepieces reflects the same meticulous attention to precision objects and their craftsmanship. Specific Terms of Sale: Please note that all watches are sold “as is.” No warranty is provided regarding their operating condition; therefore, a service is recommended. Some watches have been opened to identify the type and quality of the movement—including water-resistant watches—so buyers are advised to consult a watchmaker to have the watch’s water resistance checked.
