THE STUDIO. — Daumier and Gavarn(i). London, The Studio, n.d. [early 20th century]. Quarto, paperback, illustrated cover printed in green, under a clear protective slipcase. An early issue of the English art magazine *The Studio*, devoted to Honoré Daumier and Paul Gavarni. The volume is illustrated with black-and-white reproductions, including scenes of Parisian life, caricatures, and drawings depicting social customs. The publication reflects the interest in England in the great 19th-century French artists and their depictions of Parisian society. The cover features an advertising composition by The Strand Engraving Company, while the interior pages reproduce, among other things, scenes from *Les Bohémiens de Paris*. This copy shows signs of wear, foxing, and fragility along the edges of the pages.
