ROBERT MALAVAL. Exhibition catalog. ARC - Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. March–May 1981. A major monograph published in conjunction with the exhibition dedicated to Robert Malaval at the ARC. A prominent figure in the French art scene of the 1960s and 1970s, Malaval developed a unique body of work blending painting, popular culture, rock music, light, and shimmering materials. The book traces the various stages of his artistic career through a significant collection of reproductions and documents. The reproduced works bear witness to his rich and varied universe, oscillating between gestural abstraction, material experimentation, and visual energy inspired by contemporary culture. Published shortly after the artist’s death, this catalog remains one of the major references for the study of his work. In-4, illustrated paperback. Publisher: ARC - Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Date: 1981. Illustrations: numerous color and black-and-white reproductions.
