RING DES ARTS. — No. 2. Fall 1961. Brussels, M. Weissenbruch S.A., 1961. A quarto-sized volume, paperback, with a green-and-white printed cover and black-and-white illustrations. The second issue of this international journal of contemporary art, published in French and English, featuring contributions from artists, critics, and writers associated with the artistic and literary avant-garde of the early 1960s. The table of contents includes, notably, texts by John Cage, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Don Crusor, Thomas B. Hess, John Ashbery, Henri Matisse, Pierre Restany, René Guiette, Sylvano Bussotti, Robert Pincus-Witten, Olivier de Magny, Pierre Joly, and Françoise Choay. An interesting contribution by Le Corbusier, titled *Le Couvent de la Tourette*, is accompanied by photographs of the building and focuses on his architectural concepts of light and space. Also noteworthy are the texts by John Cage, “Where Are We Going / What Are We Doing,” by Pierre Restany, “Le Baptême de l’objet,” as well as an article by John Ashbery on Louise Nevelson. The copy appears complete, though the cover is slightly worn and shows some stains and creases.
