MIRÓ (Joan). — Joan Miró. Knokke-Heist, André de Rache, 1971. A quarto-sized volume, paperback, with a color-illustrated cover featuring a composition by Joan Miró; the title is printed in large letters on the back cover. Catalog of the exhibition dedicated to Joan Miró (1893–1983) at the Knokke-Heist Municipal Casino, organized as part of the 24th Belgian Summer Festival, from June to August 1971. The book presents a representative selection of the Catalan painter’s work, ranging from his surrealist explorations to his abstract compositions characterized by their vocabulary of symbols, organic forms, and bold colors. Numerous black-and-white reproductions, notably *Peinture* (known as *Woman, Moon, Birds*), an oil on canvas from 1927, from a private collection in Brussels. An interesting exhibition catalog from the 1970s, particularly notable for its cover, which reproduces a polychrome composition by Miró. This copy shows scuffing, creases, and some soiling on the cover.
