46 - BRAQUE (Georges). — Georges Braque.

BRAQUE (Georges). — Georges Braque. Paris, Éditions des Musées nationaux, 1973. A square in-4 volume, paperback, with an illustrated cover. Catalog of the major retrospective exhibition dedicated to Georges Braque (1882–1963), held at the Orangerie des Tuileries from October 16, 1973, to January 14, 1974. The book traces the painter’s entire career, from his early Fauvist and Cubist explorations to the major compositions of his mature period. It features extensive black-and-white and color illustrations reproducing the major works presented at the exhibition, notably *La Nuit* (1951). This exhibition marked an important milestone in the institutional recognition of Braque’s work, ten years after his death. A fine copy.
