QUILLET UNIVERSAL ATLAS Maurice Allain. Librairie Aristide Quillet, Paris, 1933. An important volume of the Quillet Universal Atlas devoted to the French world and the colonial empire. The work brings together fold-out maps, statistics, and geographic, economic, and political data on France and its overseas possessions during the interwar period. The large, full-color lithographed maps, such as the one of North Africa reproduced here, attest to the encyclopedic ambition of Quillet Publications. This copy is in the publisher’s decorated binding, with significant wear on the spine and headbands. Its value is primarily documentary and historical.
