CZECH AND SLOVAK ARTISTS. — 40 Czech and Slovak artists. 1960–1990. Paris, Art Défense, Galeries Art 4 / Esplanade, Printemps Haussmann, and the Musée du Luxembourg, 1990. A quarto-sized volume, paperback, with an illustrated cover. Catalog of the exhibition dedicated to forty contemporary Czech and Slovak artists, held simultaneously at several venues in Paris between December 1990 and February 1991. Presented at the Art Défense Galleries, Printemps Haussmann, and the Musée du Luxembourg, this event reflected the renewed interest in Czechoslovak art in the wake of the 1989 Velvet Revolution. The exhibition was curated by Étienne Cornevin for the Art Défense Galleries and Printemps, and by Jana Claverie for the Musée du Luxembourg. An illustrated catalog devoted to the major trends in Czech and Slovak art from the 1960s to the 1990s. This copy features handwritten annotations on the back cover, mentioning Vladimir Boudník (1924–1968), among others. These annotations do not constitute an identifiable dedication. Appears to be in good overall condition.
