Ornamental vase with a stylized cylindrical shape, a narrow neck, and a truncated conical mouth. Crafted from multilayered blown glass (verre camée) and worked using a multi-stage acid-etching process. It features a satin-finished mustard-colored base with upper layers in shades of green, brown, and blue that form a continuous naturalistic landscape depicting a forest next to a lake.In the foreground, the sharp outlines of trees stand out, etched in a deeper relief. In the background, the acid-etching technique blurs layers of blue and light green glass to create a subtle effect of mist and perspective over the mountains and water. Height: 63.5 cm Provenance: Private European collection. References: Christie’s. Lot 69. Emile Gallé (Vosges Paysage Cameo Vase, circa 1900). Oct. 26, 2010.
