Militaria: Photo/Prisoners of War/WWII World War II 1939–1945 - Prisoners of War (POWs) Working in the Snow - Stalag III B Censorship Stamp - A deeply moving and invaluable visual record that authentically documents the reality of captivity and forced labor in Germany. This original silver-gelatin photograph depicts a group of six French prisoners of war assigned to a forestry or snow-clearing work detail in the middle of winter. The men pose side by side in a snow-covered forest, equipped with shovels and a makeshift sled. On the reverse side, this historical document bears a remarkable and very clear stamp from the German military censorship office in purple ink: “Freigegeben / Stalag III B.” This official mark certifies that the photograph originates directly from the Fürstenberg camp on the Oder River.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
