The first volume is bound in full red sheepskin decorated with a polychrome design; the second is bound in half red sheepskin and contains the sets of engravings (two sets of the original color illustrations and a set of end-piece engravings, printed on pure-fiber Arches vellum). Edition printed in a run of 1,864 copies; one of the 400 on Arches vellum illustrated with 75 aquatints, etchings, burin engravings, and drypoints by Vincent Tailhardat.
