3 ATLASES: - [LAS CASES (Marie-Joseph-Emmanuel-Dieudonné, Count of)]. Historical, Chronological, and Geographical Atlas, by A. Le Sage. Paris, Sourdon, (1808), folio, 1f. "Preliminary Statement"—frontispiece & 37 folios mounted on tabs in the middle. Publisher’s binding in fawn half-basane, with a medallion on the cover bearing the title and the bookbinder’s signature. (Meslant).—The title page is missing. The plates are in good condition. Binding is loose, upper hinge torn over 8 cm, edges rubbed. Fourth edition of this famous atlas, adorned with a frontispiece engraved by Moisy depicting The Napoleonic Festivities from 1796 to 1806. This plate was omitted from printings made after the Restoration. The name A. Le Sage, under which this work was published, is not believed to be a pseudonym for Count Las-Cases, but rather the name of a French priest who had taken refuge in England, or of an Irish priest from whom Las-Cases may have purchased the work. Published in eight installments of four maps or plates each, *L'Atlas historique* was expanded through 1826. Each owner of the work could update their copy by purchasing the new maps. A total of 39 plates were published. This copy, whose plates are addressed to Didot the Elder, 1806, contains the Supplementary Sheet... for 1825; The Russian Empire in Europe and Asia (1807); Historical World Map (1808); Modern Europe; Political Europe in 1826 (map XXX bis); Historical, Physical, and Political America in 1825 (XXXIII bis); Special Historical and Geographical Map of the United States of North America (supplementary map no. 34). - In total, 24 maps in one-third plate size, surrounded by dense text. Maps and blocks of text enhanced with watercolor. (Quérard IV, p. 586 ff. provides a detailed description of this work). - DUSSIEUX. Fictitious collection of 29 plates from the Dussieux General Atlas, 19th century, oblong folio in fawn half-basane. - [Property taxes] - [Atlas]. Ministry of Finance. New Assessment of Land Income from Undeveloped Properties in France, conducted by the Direct Tax Administration pursuant to Article 1 of the Law of August 9, 1879. Statistical Atlas. Paris, Imprimerie Nationale, 1884, folio-sized atlas. Publisher’s cardboard binding. - Clean, fragile stitching, corners slightly worn. 82 large maps, most of them double-page spreads, mounted on tabs. They are divided into 10 series: net taxable income by crop type, property taxes, reports, market values...
