Fawn-colored, grain-textured sheepskin; spine with decorated raised bands; red and fawn title labels; marbled edges. (Contemporary bindings). - Corners slightly rounded, 2 cap ends damaged, a few scuffs, paper occasionally slightly yellowed, a few pinholes or spots. 2 folded maps. The first major work on Hellenic history published in England, *History of Ancient Greece* was translated into French by Jean-Louis Carra. (Cioranescu I, 15650 – Quérard III, p. 356 – Caratini, Dictionary of Figures of the Revolution, p. 156).
