Bound in period tobacco-colored half-maroquin with corner pieces, ribbed spine, panels decorated with fillets, small flowers, and small gilt ironwork in the 18th-century style, gilt head, trimmed. - One of 130 copies in the edition, printed on Holland paper. Very well bound, with a few small pinholes on the first and last leaves. Carefully printed in an edition of only 200 copies. An essential work on one of the masters of engraving and illustration in the 18th century. Includes a biographical note, a catalog raisonné of the artist’s work, and a complete table at the end of the volume.
