Bradel binding in caramel-colored half-maroquin, corners, spine decorated with gilt fillets, florets, and arabesques, gilt glass and bottle in the center, gilt head, untrimmed, original illustrated cover preserved. (Champs).—Copy on Chinese paper, marked “not for sale.” Very fresh and well bound. (Lahure Collection). This work is the first example of color gillotage, a mechanical engraving process developed by Firmin Gillot, which earned the publisher and printer Lahure the gold medal at the Book Exhibition.
