Brown half-basane, smooth spine, gilt fillets, and embossed fleurons. (Contemporary binding). Simple binding. A few very faint, light foxing spots. This is the first collected edition, containing all the pamphlets, the “Eloge d’Hélène,” the “Prospectus d’une traduction nouvelle d’Hérodote,” and the “Préface de la traduction de La Luciade.” This first printing is quite rare. The volume was reprinted in 1827 in a larger print run. The pagination of this edition is incorrect, with a significant gap in the introductory pages, but the work is otherwise complete.
