Filippo Lauri (attributed to) (Rome 1623 – Rome 1694) Erminia among the Shepherds Oil on canvas 51 x 74.5 cm. Framed The painting is closely related in style, composition, and subject to the signed and dated 1681 canvas of the same subject and similar dimensions, formerly in the Lemme Collection and now preserved at the Museo del Barocco Romano in Palazzo Chigi, Ariccia. This work can likewise be dated to the mature period of Lauri’s career and exemplifies his production of mythological and chivalric subjects in the cabinet format favored by Roman aristocratic collections. Private collection, Marche.
