Genoese artist, 17th century () Venus in Vulcan’s Forge Oil on canvas 147x187 cm. Framed The painting depicts Vulcan forging armor in the presence of Venus; the dramatic chiaroscuro and artificial lighting suggest the influence of Caravaggio. Its stylistic features, particularly those reminiscent of the Genoese painter Domenico Fiasella, suggest a possible attribution to his pupil Giovanni Battista Casoni.
