A FINE TANTO SIGNED KANESUMI, SHINTO the hira-zukuri blade (minor old staining and small pits) with one mekugi-ana, notare-midare hamon, fully bound tsuka with iron fuchi-kashira decorated with chased gold dragons and signed ‘Y oshihisa’ and ‘Yoshinori’, gilt dragon and ken menuki, and shakudo tsuba decorated with a dragon and tama against a nanako ground with gold details, in its gold lacquered saya (minor old chips at the edges) decorated in black and grey lacquer with a dragon amid swirling clouds, iron kurikata decorated with a dragon in gold and sift metal, silver kojiri decorated with a dragon amidst clouds, and complete with shakudo kodzuka with a gold dragon against clouds, 25.5 cm blade Provenance Bonhams Knightsbridge, 25 July 2012, lot 42
