NEPAL A carved wooden damyen (sarangi) with the head carved in bas-relief depicting the face of an angry deity that appears to be biting the neck; carved and openwork above the body, featuring an infinity knot. The body is covered in leather. Height: 67 cm. Also included is a wooden damyen (sarangi) with a pear-shaped body covered in leather; the head is carved in the form of a makara extending its trunk toward the sky, and the back of the body is carved with a stylized face turned upside down. Four keys (metal reinforcing pieces). Height: 64 cm.
