Set comprising two pairs of women’s shoes, one pair of men’s boots, and two children’s headbands, China, 20th century A pair of men’s chaoxue-style boots made of black silk featuring distinctive stitching, a pair of women’s bound-foot shoes known as lianxie, made of black silk and embroidered with flowers in multicolored silk threads; and a pair of women’s qíxié-style shoes made of black and beige silk, embroidered with flowers and birds, featuring a flat sole and a wedge heel. Also included are two children’s headbands, known as Tóngmào mǒ’é, made of purple and red silk and embroidered with various flowers. Length of headbands: 22 cm
