A second marking, 17. D. 580, on the brass handle. Oxidized, without a scabbard. A Model 1871 bayonet, blade dated 1874, with a regimental cross marked 27.R. (crossed out). Blade shows signs of oxidation. Comes with a scabbard in poor condition—dry, unstitched leather. Brass pommel marked “101,” Saxon Reserve Regiment.
