Georges (Karpeles) Kars (Czech, 1882-1945) Nature Morte Cubiste, 1914 oil on canvas laid to board signed Kars and dated (upper left) 20 x 25 1/2 in. (50.8 x 62.2 cm) Property from a Private Family Trust, Chicago, Illinois This lot is located in Philadelphia. Framed: 29 x 34 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. Canvas is laid to board and margins are trimmed. Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; one line of horizontal inpainting extending along the upper left edge, approximately 5 inches; the highly reflective varnish makes it difficult to discern additional areas of inpainting under normal viewing conditions.
