Статья "О жертвенном искусстве", неоконченная, 5 стр. "On the Disposition Toward Creativity // After the great artistic movements of the last three or four decades—from Symbolism to what is called Futurism and its later manifestations—having astonishingly reflected our external structure and our mode of creation—yet without allowing for the complete languor of the spirit that is their source —it is high time to ask an inevitable question: have we not, over time, missed a crucial stage in humanity’s pursuit of creativity?” "On the Inner Readiness for Creativity // After the creative surges in art over the last three or four decades—from Symbolism to so-called Futurism and its subsequent offshoots—which have astonishingly transformed our external structure and mode of creation, yet failing to fully resolve the deep yearning of the Spirit from which these outbursts arose—it is now high time to pose the urgent question: has some essential step in humanity’s creative endeavor been overlooked as the days have passed?” -A “Preface to Ivan Philiptchenko’s Book of Poems—Предисловие к книге стихов Ивана Филипченка,” for the poetry collection published in 1918 under the title “The Era of Glory — Эра Славы,” for which Jurgis Kasimirovich BALTRUCHAITIS and Valery Bryusov co-authored the preface. Ivan Gurievich Philiptchenko (1887–1937) was a poet who belonged to the literary group “The Forge” ("Кузница"), composed of proletarian writers and poets, including M. Gerasimov and G. Nikiforov, among others. Coming from a humble background, he joined the Social Democratic Workers’ Party in 1913 and worked on the editorial staff of the newspaper *Pravda* from 1918 to 1928; and his poems revolve around the struggle of the proletariat, in a style described as “cosmic-planetary” due to its soaring imagery and hyperbole; the influence of Briussov and Mayakovsky is evident. He was arrested and executed for criticizing Stalin, but was posthumously rehabilitated in 1955.
