Fyodor Fyodorovich ZASS (18th–19th century) "Description of the Caucasus with Brief Historical and Statistical Accounts of Georgia," in Russian, published in St. Petersburg at the Theater Press in 1805. The work was first submitted in French in December 1804; this is the Russian version prepared by Yakov Languen, who addresses it directly to “His Imperial Majesty Alexander Pavlovich,” Tsar Alexander I. In-12° format, 72 pages. Half-leather binding. Some wear. Fyodor Fyodorovich ZASS (18th–19th centuries) “Description of the Caucasus with a Brief and Statistical Account of Georgia,” printed “by the highest command of His Imperial Majesty” at the Theater Printing House in St. Petersburg. This book was published the previous year in French, and this present version is the first translation, which was carried out by Yakov Langen and dedicated directly to the Tsar.
