CARLOS BÉCQUER DOMÍNGUEZ (Barcelona, 1889–1968). “Female Nude.” Oil on canvas. Signed. Measurements: 75 x 53 cm; 96 x 74 cm (frame) Carlos Bécquer studied at the San Jordi Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona. He then moved to Paris, where he began his artistic career in 1909. In the French capital, he worked for publishers such as Hachette, illustrating books, and also contributed to many magazines. He held several successful exhibitions. He was also a prominent poster artist, winning third prize in this genre at the 1942 Exhibition.
