Porcelain painting by KPM Berlin. A stately bust portrait of Reich Chancellor Prince Otto von Bismarck in profile, wearing a coat with a profiled collar and a light-colored neckerchief tied in a bow. Extremely fine polychrome painting. Based on a painting by Franz von Lenbach from around 1890, now in the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich. On the reverse, stamped with the scepter mark and the KPM mark, and bearing an old label from the Merkel-Heine Art Institute for Porcelain Painting in Wiesbaden. The stucco frame is partially chipped and worn. See photos for condition.
